Ohishi Islay Cask Finish Japanese Whisky｜ Other Products

Ohishi Islay Cask Finish Japanese Whisky is a meeting of two traditions: rice whisky from Ohishi Distillery in Kumamoto Prefecture, Kyushu, and the peaty, smoky casks of Islay Scotch. Ohishi's whisky, distilled from koji-fermented rice and spring water from the Kuma River, is finished in barrels that previously held Islay single malt and bottled at 41.7% ABV.The Islay wood lends a deep, gentle smokiness balanced by the fruit and delicate spice of the rice spirit: peat smoke and sea air on the nose, a smooth, velvety palate of honey, orchard fruit and soft smoke, and a long, lightly smoky finish. It is a sophisticated and complex whisky, best savored neat or on the rocks. This 750ml bottle is a must-try for anyone curious about Japanese rice whisky with a Scottish accent.
