Steeped in history, this Italian confection - torrone is a fabled nougat traditionally made from honey, sugar, egg whites, and crunchy nuts. Loved internationally, there are a lot of theories regarding how, when, and where this delight was first created. Some people believe it's derived from traditional Roman sweet - Cuppedo. However, according to the most famous story, it was invented for a royal wedding in 1441. It's believed that Sicilian cooks shaped the special celebratory sweet after the Torrazzo tower, hence the name - torrone. 
The history of Quaranta began in 1924 in Caravaggio, the birthplace of Caravaggio.
