Long Product Description
Overview: 36k 5-Zone DIY Multi-Zone Starter Bundle (6k + 18k)
The MRCOOL® DIYM236HPW00D00 bundle is built around the brand-new DIY-MULTI5-36HP230D-O 36k BTU, 5-zone condenser and two 5th Gen wall-mount air handlers:

(1) DIY-06-HP-WMAH-230D25-O – 6k BTU wall-mount (up to ~200 sq. ft.)
(1) DIY-18-HP-WMAH-230D25-O – 18k BTU wall-mount (up to ~800 sq. ft.)

This factory-matched kit is ideal when you:

Want to heat and cool two different rooms now (e.g., small office + large living room), and
Want the flexibility to add up to three more MRCOOL DIY indoor units later on the same 36k condenser.

The DIYM236HPW00D00 system delivers up to 23 SEER2 cooling and 9.9 HSPF2-4 heating, uses R-454B next-generation refrigerant, and is designed so you don’t need an HVAC license or vacuum pump to install it.

True DIY Install with Pre-Charged QuickConnect® Line Sets
Like the rest of the MRCOOL® DIY family, this bundle is engineered for real homeowners:

Includes (1) DIY16-1438-O – 16 ft, 1/4” x 3/8” R-454B pre-charged line set for the 6k indoor unit.
Includes (1) DIY16-1412-O – 16 ft, 1/4” x 1/2” R-454B pre-charged line set for the 18k indoor unit.
Each line set ships factory pre-charged with R-454B refrigerant and uses QuickConnect® fittings.
No vacuum pump, no gauges, no refrigerant handling—just carefully tighten the connections according to the MRCOOL® manual.

The DIYPRO® cable (where supplied) replaces traditional electrical conduit and adds extra protection against weather, pets, and yard equipment. If you can follow a step-by-step guide and handle basic tools, you can install a MRCOOL DIY system.

Room-By-Room Zoning: Small Room + Big Room
DIYM236HPW00D00 gives you two very different, very useful zones right out of the box:

6k DIY-06-HP-WMAH-230D25-O (up to ~200 sq. ft.)

Perfect for small bedrooms, offices, nurseries, walk-in closets, pantries, or server/equipment rooms.

18k DIY-18-HP-WMAH-230D25-O (up to ~800 sq. ft.)

Ideal for large living rooms, open-concept spaces, big master suites, garages, bonus rooms, or finished basements.

Together, you can easily condition around 1,000 sq. ft. depending on layout and insulation, and the 36k condenser still has three open ports for future 9k/12k/18k indoor units.

5th Gen Efficiency with R-454B and DC Inverter
The DIY-MULTI5-36HP230D-O condenser uses a DC inverter rotary compressor and low-GWP R-454B refrigerant:

Up to 23 SEER2 cooling
EER2: 12
HSPF2-4: 9.9 | HSPF2-5: 7.5
Cooling capacity: up to 34,000 BTU
Heating capacity: up to 36,000 BTU

That means lower electric bills compared to old PSC systems or oversized central units, with smooth ramp-up/ramp-down operation for more even comfort and less temperature swing.
Smart Controls, Quiet Operation, Real Comfort
Both wall-mount units in the DIYM236HPW00D00 bundle come loaded with smart features:

SmartHVAC® app control (iOS & Android)
Amazon Alexa & Google Assistant voice control
Follow Me® function – the system conditions the space based on the remote’s location
Dry Mode for dehumidification
Quiet mode, Sleep mode, Auto, Fan-only, and more

The Gold Fin® condenser coating helps resist corrosion, especially around coastal or humid environments, giving better long-term reliability compared to uncoated outdoor units.

Q: What breaker size does the outdoor unit require?
A: The DIY-MULTI5-36HP230D-O condenser requires up to a 35A max fuse/breaker and 30.5A MCA. Always have a licensed electrician verify breaker and wire size according to local electrical code.
