G'Vine bills itself as the gin of France, and Nouaison is its bigger, spicier sibling to the brand's floral Floraison. Both start from an unusual base: distilled Ugni Blanc grapes, the same variety that goes into Cognac and Armagnac, giving the gin a rich, almost luscious texture underneath the botanicals. The name refers to nouaison, the viticultural moment when grape vines shift from flower to fruit — and this gin actually uses those short-lived grape blossoms as one of its fourteen botanicals, alongside juniper, cardamom, cassia bark, cubeb berries, nutmeg, licorice, bergamot, sandalwood, vetiver, plum, lime, and ginger.
