"The album, I looked at it like a 50-minute song," says Majid Al Maskati during an interview at NY's Hot 97. The singer, alongside Jordan Ullman, makes up Majid Jordan, and The Space Between is the duo's sophomore LP. MJ's self-titled 2016 debut quickly established the OVO r&b team as one of the major players in the moody, atmospheric r&b/pop circuit, and this record only solidifies its status. Back to Majid's comment about the 13-tracker… The Space Between indeed flows like one long tune, and it's that cohesiveness, in conjunction w/ shimmery retro-futuristic production, is what makes the record one of the must-listens of 2017. Highlights include "Gave Your Love Away," My Imagination," "Body Talk," and "One I Want," but this is one of those albums you have to listen to from beginning to end - recommended for intimate situations.
