Caffo Limoncino dell'Isola is the Calabrian answer to limoncello from Gruppo Caffo, the family distillery founded in 1915 in Limbadi. Where Amalfi limoncello uses large Sorrento lemons, Limoncino is made from small, intensely flavored Calabrian lemons whose peels are macerated in spirit to draw out their oils, then blended with sugar and water. It is the natural pale-yellow color of fresh lemonade rather than neon, because nothing artificial is added.
