Details of Ampfibian RV-Plus 15A to 10A Caravan Power Adaptor| Other Products

Weatherproof 15 A to 10 A adaptor, with breaker and RCD built in
Your van has a 15 A plug. Your house has 10 A power points. So does your parents' driveway, your mate's farm shed, and half the places you'll want to plug in between trips.
This is what bridges the two, safely and legally. It carries a 10 A circuit breaker and a 30 mA RCD, so your van can only ever ask for what the house circuit is built to give, and a fault cuts the power in a fraction of a second whether or not the place you're plugged into has a safety switch of its own. Plenty of older homes don't.
    The shortcut to avoid^
Every so often someone asks us for a lead with a 15 A socket on one end and a 10 A plug on the other, or has a mate make one up. Please don't. That oversized earth pin on a 15 A plug isn't a quirk of design, it's a lock: it exists so a 15 A load can't be plugged into a 10 A circuit. A home made lead picks the lock, and then there's nothing left to stop your van pulling more than the house wiring was built for. This adaptor puts the limit back. Why Ampfibian?
What sets the Ampfibian apart is where it can live. Yours will sit outside, plugged in, through whatever the week throws at it. This one is rated IP55 against weather and IK08 against knocks, with a lockable lid that seals around the lead up to 12 mm. Most adaptors on the shelf are not built for that. It is also still designed and made in Australia.
The Ampfibian doesn't just change the plug. It limits what your van can draw.

10 A circuit breaker built in – caps the load at 2400 W, so the house circuit is never asked for more than it was built to give.

30 mA RCD built in – cuts the power fast on a leakage fault, such as a damaged lead or water where it shouldn't be. It does that whether or not the place you're plugged into has its own RCD, and plenty of older homes don't.

Built to live outdoors – IP55 weatherproof, IK08 impact rated, lockable lid that seals around leads up to 12 mm.

We stock it because it's the one we use ourselves.
When you'll reach for it: loading up at home before a trip, running the fridge in the driveway, staying at family's place, or any site without a 15 A outlet. Works with any 15 A lead, including ours.|
    Key Features:

    Safe, compliant connection – Connects a 15 A caravan lead to a 10 A domestic outlet, to AS/NZS 3001 and AS/NZS 3190.

10 A circuit breaker (MCB) – 2400 W overload protection for the household wiring you're borrowing.

30 mA RCD – Personal shock protection, independent of the building's own switchboard.

IP55 weatherproof – Leave it out in the weather.

IK08 impact resistant – Survives being dropped in a boot and driven around.

Lockable lid and lead seal – Seals around leads up to 12 mm and keeps the connection shut.

Power indicator light – Confirms supply at a glance.
    Designed and made in Australia.

What you can run at home
At a caravan park you have 15 A, which is 3600 W. At home on a 10 A circuit you have 2400 W. That is plenty for what most people plug in for at home: battery maintenance, the fridge, lights, chargers and the basics.
Go carefully with the high draw gear. Air conditioner, induction cooktop, microwave, kettle, heater: realistically one at a time rather than two. If you ask for more than 2400 W the breaker simply trips. Nothing is damaged, you reset it and drop a load. Worth knowing before it happens, because it catches people who are used to the 3600 W they get at a park.
