Rare Character Maple Cask Finish Rye Whiskey is one of the finished expressions from Rare Character, the independent bottler founded in 2021 by Pablo Moix and Peter Nevenglosky that has become one of the most sought-after names in American whiskey. Moix, a veteran bartender with a reputation for finding unusual barrels, takes well-aged straight rye from Indiana and Kentucky stocks and gives it a second maturation in casks that previously held maple syrup, then bottles it at cask strength, 110.22 proof.Maple cask finishing is a natural match for rye. The peppery, herbal spice of a high-rye whiskey gets wrapped in the caramelized sweetness the maple leaves in the wood, producing a whiskey that tastes like an Old Fashioned before you have added anything to it. Expect brown sugar, maple candy and toasted oak layered over rye bread, black pepper and baking spice, with the proof carrying a long, warm finish. Rare Character bottles carry custom label art and a colored wax top keyed to the flavor profile, and their finished releases are produced in small quantities that rarely last long on the shelf.Buy Rare Character Maple Cask Finish Rye Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
