Cheerful, colorful, and always buzzing with activity, Cuphea ‘Funny Face’ delights with an abundance of whimsical tubular flowers in shades of creamy white, purple, and rich burgundy. The distinctive blooms resemble tiny smiling faces, making this compact, free-flowering plant a conversation piece in containers, borders, and patio gardens. Even better, hummingbirds and other pollinators find the nectar-rich blossoms irresistible from summer well into fall.
Growing 12 to 18 inches tall with a neat, bushy habit, ‘Funny Face’ is ideal for mixed containers, hanging baskets, and sunny garden beds where continuous color is desired. Its long bloom season pairs beautifully with calibrachoas, salvias, lantanas, angelonias, and ornamental grasses, adding vibrant contrast and pollinator appeal to summer combinations.
Plant Cuphea ‘Funny Face’ in full sun to part sun with well-drained soil and regular water for the best performance. Heat-tolerant and remarkably floriferous, it requires little maintenance beyond occasional feeding to keep the flowers coming. Explore our Cuphea - Cigar Plants Collection for more nectar-rich plants that will keep hummingbirds returning to your garden all season long.
