Cadenhead's is the oldest independent bottler in Scotland — founded in Aberdeen in 1842, now based in Campbeltown — and its rums are bottled the way it bottles whisky: no added sugar, no coloring, no chill filtration, and a label that tells you where it came from. Classic Rum is the house blend, and Rum Ratings calls it just about the Platonic ideal of blended rum. It's a five-year-old marriage of rums from Barbados, Guyana, Jamaica, Panama, and Trinidad, bottled at 50% ABV in the stubby bottle with the gold tube, with a small label stating plainly that only water has been added.
