Released in 1999, A Prince Among Thieves is widely regarded as one of the first true hip-hop concept albums, combining music, storytelling and character-driven narrative into a cinematic listening experience. Featuring contributions from artists including Big Daddy Kane, Kool Keith, Xzibit, Everlast and RZA, the project has since achieved cult-classic status and is frequently cited as a precursor to later narrative-driven hip-hop albums.
