"I was young. Don't judge me." - Edan
"I jerk off in my cereal / You couldn't even fuck with the grand imperial" -- I love this shit. A tour de force by producer/DJ/emcee Edan. The debut full length unleashes the most original record of the year (I say this confidently). Take a moment to let the style seep in (it may be too in your face for some), and what you will witness is the beautiful crunchy. Production from the planet ultramag, then taken a cross country trip from emu to umi. The lyrics are some of the wittiest to date with a delivery destined to be ringing in your ear. Alright check out "Mic Maipulator" my personal pick. Or what about the self-stupifying "#1 Hit Record." Check out the piano sample on "Key-Bored," how'd he loop that, nevertheless put a beat under it? Genius or madness? Like I said, the style and voice gets a little taking used to, but stop and listen to what is happening, and there's no way you won't be impressed. 14 tracks on double vinyl.
