"We celebrate life, we dance together, and we rub up against each other, you know… It's a small venue, so everyone's really squished in, particularly if it's a busy night. So yea, if you don't get along with the human race, my party isn't the place to be." - DJ Harvey
Mercury Rising at Pikes Ibiza is celebrating its 5th year, and the legendary DJ Harey selects a "tiny facet of the music" that's played at the party. "Tiny facet" because his sets are usually run 6-plus hours. The selections range from dance music that's 40 years old to more recent, and there is a constant energy that flows throughout the compilation that, even in tiny morsels, shines light on the energy and atmosphere of Mercury Rising. Disco, italo, house, downtempo — familiar genres for sure, but be ready to be exposed to Harvey's leftfield-feel-good-dance offerings. Check out System Olympia's "Close To My Nebula," Midlife's "Magnificent Moon," Das Komplex' "Slap," and Nu Guinea's "Je Vulesse."
