Calwise Hazard Reef Dark Rum is a California-crafted aged rum that brings serious tiki bar credentials to a state better known for wine and whiskey. Calwise Spirits Co. is a small-batch distillery in Paso Robles — a town that has built its reputation on world-class wine country — and the Hazard Reef lineup is their love letter to the golden age of tiki and tropical cocktails. Distilled in small batches from U.S.-grown molasses and carefully aged using the solera method, the solera system — the same technique used in Sherry production in Spain — layers younger rum with older aged spirit in a continuous blending process that builds complexity over time in a way single-vintage aging can't replicate. The result is a dark rum with genuine depth — caramel, vanilla, toasted oak, and molasses weaving together into a smooth, tropical profile with an exotic touch of magic that makes it equally at home in cocktails or sipped over ice. An exotic concoction built to add tropical magic to cocktails, it shines in a Dark & Stormy, a Planter's Punch, or a classic Rum Old Fashioned.
