Taylor Gold Label 517e BTCP

Powerful Elegance. Heritage Tone. Stage-Ready Confidence.

A bold expression of tradition reimagined, the Taylor Gold Label 517e Blacktop fuses commanding vintage tone with refined modern craftsmanship in a guitar that’s equal parts striking and sonically rich. This special-edition Grand Pacific model introduces a deeper body to Taylor’s round-shoulder dreadnought platform, unlocking enhanced resonance, greater projection, and powerful low-end response that fills any space with effortless authority.

At its heart lies a torrefied Sitka spruce top, roasted to perfection for an aged-in character that evokes the sweet, dry tone of a well-loved vintage acoustic. Paired with solid tropical mahogany back and sides, the 517e Blacktop projects a focused midrange, earthy warmth, and a nuanced dynamic range ideal for both fingerstyle clarity and robust flatpicking. The slightly deeper body delivers a room-filling sound that’s both warm and muscular, with the kind of sonic weight that commands attention whether amplified or unplugged.

Internally, Taylor’s V-Class bracing architecture enhances every note with improved volume, longer sustain, and purer intonation across the fretboard. At the neck joint, Taylor’s patented long-tenon Action Control Neck™ introduces a transformative connection between neck and body—optimizing tonal transfer while offering exceptional adjustability to suit any playing preference or environment.

Visually, the 517e Blacktop is distinguished by its gloss jet-black soundboard, set against cream binding, a uniquely contoured cream pickguard, and a single-ring cream rosette—a confident nod to classic Americana aesthetics. A modified headstock with an angled back cut and inlaid script-style Taylor logo adds boutique sophistication, while Crest inlays in cream adorn the fretboard and peghead for a refined, heritage-inspired finish.

Additional premium features include a Honduran rosewood Curve Wing bridge with Indian rosewood bridge pins, Taylor nickel tuning machines, and onboard LR Baggs Element VTC electronics, delivering warm, responsive amplified tone that captures the full nuance of your performance. Whether on stage, in the studio, or in the writing room, the Gold Label 517e Blacktop is a dynamic tool for artists who demand both high-fidelity tone and timeless style.

It arrives ready for the road in a British Cocoa deluxe hardshell case—the perfect match for this bold, high-end instrument.
