Haar is the Scots word for the cold sea fog that rolls in off the North Sea and blankets the Arbikie estate, a couple of miles from the Angus coast — and it's the name of the Stirling family's wheat vodka, released in October 2017 as the second vodka from Scotland's first single-site, field-to-bottle distillery. The wheat is Zulu, a winter variety that thrives in eastern Scotland and distills beautifully, grown on the family's Black Laws field, mashed, fermented, distilled, and bottled on the estate at 43% ABV. It's also the base for AK's Gin.
