Lagavulin Fireside Tales is the 2024 edition of the 12 Year Old cask-strength cult favorite from Diageo's annual Special Releases, and a departure from previous years. Where past releases used refill casks to let Islay's most revered south-coast spirit speak, Fireside Tales was matured in first-fill ex-bourbon and refill casks, letting active oak sweeten and soften Lagavulin's bold smoke into something lush and glazed.Bottled at cask strength and non-chill-filtered, it is Lagavulin character made sweet: thick toffee, vanilla and coconut on the nose, unfurling with aromatic spice, then a palate where powerful peat tempers into inviting sweetness with honey, baked fruit and gentle smoke, finishing long and warming. A testament to oak's influence on bold character, it is a one-time bottling and a fascinating counterpoint to the 2022 and 2023 releases for Lagavulin collectors.Buy Lagavulin Fireside Tales 12 Year Cask Strength Special Release 2024 Islay Single Malt Scotch online with fast shipping right to your door.
