Rare Character Limited Release Batch No. 1 Rye Whiskey is the first small-batch rye from Rare Character, the independent bottler founded in 2021 by Pablo Moix and Peter Nevenglosky whose single barrels have become some of the most collected bottles in American whiskey. Batch No. 1 takes the same barrel-hunting approach and applies it to a blend: predominantly seven- and eight-year-old straight rye whiskeys from prime barrels sourced across Indiana and Kentucky, married and bottled at 117.9 proof.Moix, a veteran bartender known for his palate, selects barrels for character rather than uniformity, and the batch shows it. It opens with warm baking spice, orange zest and toasted oak, evolves on the palate into dark fruit, caramelized sugar and a peppery rye backbone, and finishes long with refined tannin, black pepper and a subtle citrus lift. With Rare Character single barrels commanding multiples of retail on the secondary market, the Limited Release batches are the way to get a Moix-blended rye at a shelf price. Full-bodied, high-proof and built for the rye enthusiast.Buy Rare Character Limited Release Batch No. 1 Rye Whiskey online with fast shipping right to your door.
