Goodenia radicans Bonking Grass
Formally named Selliera radicans, this unusual Australian and New Zealand native has a particularly unfortunate name. Named after the secluded and private areas in our native bushland and coastal areas, favoured by couples seeking some private time.
Bonking grass is a handy native. Easy to grow, particularly in damp positions in full sun or part shade. It can also be grown in boggy positions or as a water plant. It makes a fantastic weed suppressing ground cover in the garden. And is a wonderful cascading plant when used in a pot, raised garden bed, or as a hanging basket plant. Its leaves naturally turn upwards as its stems cascade. Creating a very interesting visual effect. Pure white flowers adorn this plant en mass through spring and summer.
Bonking grass is a salt tolerant plant and is a fantastic option for coastal gardens.
Growing approx 5-15cm tall and up to 1m wide. We have this wonderful plant available in the nursery or on our webpage for postage further afield.
For best results we use Garden Delight Rock Minerals as a native safe fertiliser.
