Salvia horminum - Blue｜ Other Products

Salvia horminum ‘Blue’ is an annual sage with a wonderfully fresh twist: the show comes from vivid blue bracts that stack along upright stems for weeks of color. Vigorous, quick-growing, and nicely branching, this garden-worthy annual salvia brings height, texture, and cool-toned drama to sunny beds, cutting gardens, cottage borders, and pollinator plantings.

Also known as blue painted sage or annual clary sage, it is especially useful for bouquets, where the colorful bracts last beautifully and add a soft, papery texture. In the garden, the blue spikes pair beautifully with roses, poppies, cosmos, bachelor buttons, white flowers, apricot tones, and ornamental grasses. It is a wonderful way to add sage family charm in a fast, seasonal form.

Plant Salvia horminum ‘Blue’ in full sun with well-drained soil and average water. Cut often for arrangements and continued fresh growth. Easy, elegant, and surprisingly versatile, this blue annual sage deserves a place in every cutting garden. Explore more favorites in our Salvia - Sage collection.
