Stella Donnelly: Beware Of The Dogs (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP｜ Pet Supplies

weightless tunes about heavy subjects. Beware Of The Dogs is an album of contrasts - airy acoustic instrumentation with grim subject matter, crass jokes mixed with political activism. Often compared to her contemporaries Angel Olsen and Soccer Mommy, this album also bring to mind early PJ Harvey. Anguish is both internal and external on “Boys Will Be Boys”, a ruthless takedown of male entitlement inspired by a friend’s assault. Wit and humor are wielded deftly across the album, but not necessarily to lighten the mood. The sonics are expanded from 2018’s Thrush Metal, featuring a string section, chipper drums, and soaring harmonies. This LP is pressed on limited edition opaque olive vinyl.
