Curated Pick｜SPELLLING: Portrait Of My Heart (Colored Vinyl) Vinyl LP｜ Other Products

"Portrait of My Heart marks a bold step into the future for the SPELLLING, one that pushes the project into new sonic territory while retaining the singular voice that has made her one of the most exciting songwriters of the past decade. SPELLLING goes into a more energetic direction, instead of the more whimsical landscape present in her previous work. This more energetic nature can be attributed to Chrystia Cabral’s re-immersion in the Bay Area underground that nurtured her when she first started playing music. This is the most personal SPELLLING record to date, bearing an emotional nakedness that’s echoed in its more stripped-down arrangements. Portrait of My Heart can be read as an album of love songs but they’re more about Cabral wrestling with and seeking to understand her own relationship to intimacy." - Sacred Bones Records
