JUST BACK FROM SERVICE: another great-sounding 60s Ace Tone drum machine. This one is a favourite in the office - it nails those classic, "woody", full-bodied early analogue drum sounds and it's perfectly designed for stacking lots of other gear on.
Converted to 240v operation. Serviced and working well.
The condition is good although the woodwork has some wear and tear including a mug ring on the top. However the face is clean. One knob is a replacement.
For sales in UK/EU the price will include VAT. VAT-free sales are possible to businesses and individuals in the EU (outside the UK) with a valid VAT Number - please get in touch if you wish to buy this way.
Very similar to the FR-1 - it actually has the same controls, except that the order of the presets is reversed and it has no bass drum cut out switch. And of course it is a radically different shape - flattened out so it could sit on top of your organ.
Ace Tone was started by Ikutaro Kakehashi who went on to found the Roland Corporation. The build quality and attention to detail is generally great – these machines were built to last.
Here's one of a number of demos you will find on our Instagram featuring the actual machine for sale:

Working well. Some crackle can develop but this will clear with use.
Condition is good overall, with the usual signs of age and use; some discolouration of the front panel and plenty of scuffs and dings to the woodwork and even a coffee mug ring! We'll add more photos soon.
